SaSamba – Community Samba Band
SaSamba was established in 2012 as a community band open to anyone with an interest in street percussion and exotic rhythms. No experience is necessary – just a sense of adventure and a love of music.
SaSamba plays traditional rhythms such as Batucada and Samba Reggae, as well as modern sounds like Hip Hop, Funk and even Drum and Bass using core samba instruments – Surdo, Caixa, Tamborim, Repinique and Agogo bells.
We perform regularly, often with one of Adelaide’s exciting samba dance troupes, and can add Brazilian flair to any function. We are always looking for new members – no experience is necessary.

Interested? SaSamba rehearses weekly on Thursday evenings from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. Check out our Events Calendar to see where SaSamba is playing and rehearsing. All are Welcome!
If you want to play, we run beginner workshops regularly.
All members pay a low annual fee to cover tuition, access to rehearsal space, the chance to perform and, most importantly, instruments. As a community band, we do not require you to buy anything to practice and play.
